Well Then

Last night the ear pain got worse, along with pain in the left side of my throat when swallowing.  This morning I woke up with a stabbing pain behind my left eye and decided I probably should go to the doctor.  I figured it was a headcold gone quite awry, and expected to get some hard-core pain medicine and hopefully a stronger decongestant b/c Sudafed just didn’t seem to be doing the trick.
Know why?
Because I actually have SHINGLES.  Who the freak gets shingles at age 33 in the middle of summer?? Me, apparently.
I don’t feel too awful–just fatigued, and right now dang loopy from the Vicodin I just took.   So hopefully starting on the anti-viral right away will keep this from getting too bad.
Seriously?  Shingles! WTF?!
I refuse to let this interfere with my RibFest plans, dangit!!
