While I got a fair amount of rest this weekend, I wouldn’t exactly call it a relaxing one.
I was watching H.’s little dog while she was out of town, and, well…in a nutshell, he didn’t want anything to do with me. Most of the time she was gone I’d open the apartment door an inch and be greeted with a curled lip and much growling. Eventually he let me in, but I still was not allowed anywhere near him with a leash. Which, you know, makes the whole matter of dog walking rather difficult. *sigh* I did my best to clean up the messes and make sure he at least had food.
Thursday night E. had either food poisoning or some nasty stress-related stomach problems. By Saturday morning things weren’t getting better so we went to the doctor. Diagnosis: Bacterial food poisoning, likely from Taco Bell. When it’s bacterial, it’s probably e.coli, and when it’s e.coli, it’s probably because someone didn’t wash their hands. Yuck. Having been down the food poisoning road myself once before, I know it’s enough to make you want to pack your lunch forever and always. Until you get lazy years later like me and go right back to eating out, albeit never again at the place where you got food poisoning.
So I kept an eye on my fella and attempted to keep an eye on H.’s dog and quite frankly, didn’t feel like doing much today. I got a Citrus Scrub pedicure at SpaSpace and nearly fell asleep in the chair. I could care less about the nail polish this time of year–I have extra soft skin from repeated rubbing with warm lotion. Ahhhhh.
I watched last Thursday’s LOST, which I missed, and am sitting down to catch up on some day-job work I need to accomplish before the morning. But beyond that, I think I’m too tired to even play Guitar Hero tonight.
Well, maybe.
