Amazing

July 12, 2007

I just went to get the mail (my brown slipcover for the loveseat arrived!) and had a letter, which surprised me. I mean, who gets a hand-addressed letter anymore?
Turns out a friend of mine is training for/running the AIDS marathon in Florence, Italy.  Wowee wow wow.
What is more amazing is that this same friend donated his kidney to his father two years ago.  And now this.  Pretty impressive.  I’m confident I’d give my dad a kidney if it was needed, but not sure I could run a marathon a couple years later.  Or anytime really.
If you want to help me sponsor him, I’ll send you more detailed info.  Just give me a shout.
FYI though, this is my last night of blogging for a bit (and most likely my last day of straight hair for a bit!).  Remember–noooo laptop. :)

Can’t Focus–Too Excited!

July 12, 2007

I have a hundred things to do today for work and I cannot focus AT. ALL.  Usually I cannot let things go before I am out, because I am a perfectionist and get very fussy about my name being attached to mistakes or garbage, and the last time I was out one  ball was dropped and I had to clean up the mess.  All balls must be in the air at all times, peoples!!
But I am so excited right now to be laying on the beach in Florida again and passing the days listening to my favorite tunes on my Zen Micro and wearing a cute hat and a cute summery dress that nothing, NOTHING is as important as making sure my innertube is wrapped in a plastic bag and packed. :)
E. and I had such a wonderful night last night.  I made a tasty dinner of Italian Chicken and Italian green beans, and we had wonderful wine and it was all (except the wine) mixed with the freshest garlic I’ve ever had, purchased at Eatzi’s.   So I am not whimpering and throwing myself on the floor about how much I’ll miss him.  Instead, I can leave happily knowing we had a wonderful night together before I left for a fun trip with mah girls.  Plus he can spend the time looking for an apartment. (ha–nudge, nudge honey!)
Off to the airport at 7am tomorrow–ensuring a beachy afternoon!
